This year at Integrated is very special, as we celebrate 15 years in business. It also marks a special time for long-time employee Barbara Malin, who will be retiring in June.
Barb, as she is affectionately known, has been a part of the Integrated family from almost the beginning. Her history with Managing Partner Julie Paolino goes back over 20 years when they first worked together for a previous company. In fact, just three months after Julie opened her first clinic, Barb reached out and asked to join Julie in her front office, marking the beginning of her 15-year career at Integrated.
Barb went on to become one of the original faces of the second Integrated clinic in Manchester and will finish her career at Integrated as the manager of that front office. As one of our longest serving employees, Barb will be remembered for touching the lives of so many people here. Julie notes that Barb has been an integral part of the Integrated family from the very beginning.
“Everyone who works with Barb has formed a special relationship with her. Co-workers describe her as the “mom” of the organization, always there to help others, give advice or just listen when someone needs an ear. She is looked upon as a leader and is one of the first people staff turns to for guidance and direction. Barb has embraced each staff member and has always gone above and beyond when it comes to taking care of co-workers and patients. That level of commitment has come to be the culture of Integrated.”
Eric Stearns, her longtime manager, recalls that, “During the October storm of 2011, Barb came to work even though we were without power for a week. Her dedication and loyalty are examples of the values we hold dear at Integrated.” He also praises Barbara for her involvement in the Manchester community. She can frequently be found at East Catholic sporting events and has been a familiar face for many at our booth at the Manchester Road Race Expo. “We are all very sad to see her go, but share in her happiness as she begins the next chapter of her life.”
Barb returns the sentiments of her co-workers and says that she has enjoyed working with them immensely over the years.
“They have helped me grow both personally and professionally. I will miss the family atmosphere and especially the joy of sharing each other’s personal achievements, like marriages, babies and other family milestones. I want to thank Julie, Eric and Americo for the opportunity to work at Integrated Rehab. They are truly special people.”
Barbara is originally from Madison, CT, and had the opportunity to live in both Alaska and Florida before she moved to Manchester in 1974. When she retires in June, Barbara plans to spend time with family at their home in North Myrtle Beach, South Carolina and is excited to travel around the country with her husband, as they hope to someday golf in all 50 states.
Thank you for all that you have given us Barb. Your contributions have been many, but more than anything we will miss your friendship. From your entire Integrated family, we wish you a long and joyous retirement!
