When Judy broke her ankle in three places and arthritis set in, she had to have surgery. Before the operation, her foot pointed out uncomfortably when she walked. After the ankle surgery, Judy’s goal was to walk straight again. One day she happened to notice her knee was turned inward, so she went to see an orthopedic doctor. He confirmed that she had arthritis in the knee as well and may need a full replacement. But first, he recommended physical therapy treatment to try and correct the crooked knee.

Judy came to our Coventry clinic, where she worked with Rory Magliocco (DPT, OCS, CMP, CIDN) and Julie Dutton (PTA, ATC).

“When Rory evaluated me, she said, ‘We can straighten it the best we can, but you’ll still be knock-kneed.’ Later I confessed to her, ‘I’ve always been knock-kneed!” Judy laughed.

Judy was surprised by how well the prescribed exercises worked to straighten her knee. “They did a really great job on it.”

Just before she was about to be signed out of physical therapy, Judy was involved in a car accident. She suffered whiplash and damaged muscles in her right arm. She returned to Integrated for further treatment with Rory and Julie.

When asked what she would say to someone considering Integrated Rehab, “They’re miracle workers!” Judy said. “Go, they’ll take care of you. Whatever is wrong, they will fix it for you.”

Judy was so pleased with the results of her treatment that she has continued her relationship with us! Recently, she helped to promote our lecture series at the Coventry Senior Center.
