When Mike Miner, Vice President of Highland Park Market, was diagnosed with Iliotibial (IT) Band Syndrome, he knew he needed help. IT Band Syndrome is a common and severely painful runner’s injury that causes your connective tissue to rub against the thighbone.

As a result of his IT Band Syndrome, Mike was experiencing discomfort at home and at work. He was unable to run – his favorite pastime – for more than a mile without excruciating pain.

Mike admits that he was quite pessimistic about going to physical therapy at first, but after his first visit to Integrated Rehab, he knew he had found the right solution to his pain. Julie Dutton, Clinic Director of our Coventry location, and the rest of the staff armed Mike with the exercises needed to get him back running on a regular basis within a few months. Mike’s goal was to be able to run in the Manchester Road Race on Thanksgiving Day and, with the help of our Coventry team, he was able to accomplish it.

“Not only was I able to compete, but I set a personal record!” Mike says. “Thanks to Julie and the staff at Integrated. I have never felt better and am currently training for a half marathon.”

“I continue to perform the exercises I learned in therapy and have no doubt that my continued good health is largely due to the treatment and guidance I received there.”
